We held the conference dinner at The National Railway Museum in York, which is situated at the back of York railway station, and only a short walk from the conference hotel. Opening in 1975, it was the first national museum founded outside of London and is home to a collection of over a million objects celebrating train travel. The dinner was held in Station Hall at the heart of the museum which contains the world-famous royal carriages including Queen Victoria’s personal saloon. It offered an incredible setting for dinner where the guests soaked up the nostalgic atmosphere of a bygone era. In the presence of over a century of railway history, guests dined within touching distance of these historical treasures and enjoy the exclusivity of the museum after-hours.
